A Mountainboarder’s Closet

Inspired by my new shirt from DirtStarArmy I decided to document my remaining mountainboarding shirts that I have accumulated over the years.

A few I bought, some were gifts, and the rest I cherry picked from sponsored event prizes(sorry Tony) for obvious reasons(Im obsessed with mountainboarding) my mountainboarding shirts have always ended up being my prefered shirts for all occassions. I have lost some good ones, really miss my brown GI shirt and my Van Dewitt “Hallowed Ground” shirt(as seen in ORB Magazine). But anyways I give to you my current collection for your viewing pleasure as I myself continue digging for the missing ones.

First up I give you my two epyX shirts donated by Canadian rider and Surfingdirt poster “KrazyKat”. He donated them as prizes when I was struggling to promote the first ever event of this kind in CR, and I subsequently pilfered them due to their extreme awesomeness.

Moving on now we have a now classic shirt by Team Hillbilly given to me by Ted Ladue, the first time you see this guy you make the false assumption that he is better at drinking than riding but Im here to tell you that he does both better than most. Love the Flinstone-esque mountainboard graphic.

This Dirthead shirt was given to me by Dirthead Cofounder Kevin Delaney, despite our political differences(he is political, I think politics are stupid) I have always respected the guy and give tons of credit to the Dirtheads site for convincing me that this sport was for me with a ton of kick ass pictures, and introducing me to the whole mountainboarding community courtesy of their extensive MOUNTAINBOARDING LINKS  page.

This shirt designed by my long time mountainboarding bro Cameron Ray was the final touch to what should have been a perfect event. And it would have been had it not been for some rain the morning of the event. Regardless we had a lot of fun, got a lot of new guys out on boards, got to meet Paul Johns, and tons of people walked away with free tshirts and big smiles.

This Boneshaker Shirt from the Czech Republic was brought down for our second event by Paul Johns, rumor has it that it was directly from the closet of one Jason Lee aka the Godfather of Mountainboarding.

This one I bought and never was a big fan of but my girl loves it. This MBS shirt looks cool but the MBS logo was way to stiff and got real cold in cool weather. Sorry MBS but I have seen you do better.

The next in line chronologically is this polo shirt straight off the back of the King of Popped collars himself Jereme Leafe. I new it wouldnt fit me when he offered, being the skinny punk he is (joke) but I have never been one to deny free mountainboard memorabilia so I greedily accepted.

I’ll never forget the day this next shirt arrived in the mail, especially since it was yesterday. It was like the calm before the storm, another beautiful day in Costa Rica. The birds were singing, the brooks were babbling, and all was well. Leading up to that particular day Costa Rica had known peace and been armyless since 1948, a little over sixty years of priceless harmony in this little slice of paradise. But that was before the DSA sent me this  package WMDs to use in conjunction with my ATB (sometimes under the influence of THC) soon to be posted on SD by a stoked out rider you know as McC. Word to yo mother

I swear I was just going to post the pics and move on, but when I started pasting them in they brought back some good memories that I just had to share.

If you have any mountainboard shirts you would like to share we’d love to see them and hear the story behind them. You can leave comments or join in on the conversation by clicking HERE
