I actually live in Crowborough at the moment but haven't really done much free-riding. The town is pretty much in Ashdown forest and there is a lot of riding to be found if you don't mind a bit of walking! I normally just drive down to Knockhill (40mins) or up to Ride the Hill (50mins) when I go for...

I've seen people flip smaller and shallower kickers but if you're fairly new to flips I'd advise trying them on some a bit steeper first. Small kickers are fine to flip but you've got to really whip it which I'm not sure would be that easy with a shallow kicker like that considering the amount you'd...

Personally I find turning in is always better, it lets you stay lower, use more of the transition and get more pump (and thus speed) from the drop in. Sometimes if the copping sticks up a bit I might give it a little hop when I get to 45 degrees of the turn but generally I find the turn is alright o...

In my experience Trampa has the capability to provide a lot more pop than an MBS if used correctly but MBS feels a lot more like a skateboard or snowboard to pop. As you're 6ft and 13 stone you'll be wanting a 17-ply I'd say. I started with an MBS, tried a GI and now am on my second Trampa deck. As ...

I believe they are about 5mm wider but it is enough to mean the nut doesn't tighten all the way down, it's not been an issue for me though as the nut is still on enough to keep it done up. It's a pretty easy job to cut down the spacers though so won't be a long term problem once I get round to doing...

Assuming milled aluminum for the hubs. Any chance the threads on the female side which replace the nuts are a stainless insert? ATB, Sam They aren't an insert but you don't need to do them up tightly at all so I can't see there being an issue with screwing up the thread. It is a really good point t...

Sorry for the delay in writing anything up about these but I've been pretty damn busy lately! So I've had a few proper sessions on the Voltz hubs now and am loving them, they feel nice and solid and the weight isn't a big factor on the way the ride at all. I gave them a good testing over the MBS Dem...

Not sure about whether they will take 9's but I don't see why not. I'll try and find out for you! They don't have spacers, the hubs actually just meet in the middle. I'll take them back off my wheels and get a picture for you when I get the chance Wilz! It rained before work so I didn't get to ride ...
