Kite Mechanic Kite Boards, Decks and Customs

Hey, Does anyone know the 411 on these guys? They make a fresh looking board and I don't know much about them? - Price for each board they make? / Is it worth the price? - Are they all custom? - How reliable and tested are they? - How to possibly get one? - Someone to contact or if they are on this ...

You can occasionally find them for sale on ebay or the powerkiteforum. Some shops still sell them, but I heard that the maker is stopping making them. They are killer cruising boards if you love to go fast or just have a smooth ride down the beach!

Water Kites Jumping On Land (Standing or w/ Board)

Anyone know how to use a water kite to jump with a board or standing? I am trying not to get injured! I am pretty decent at flying 2 handled 4 string Power Kites, but a bar is new to me. Are there any techniques or videos on YouTube that could help?

It is quite dangerous, but it is also so much DANG FUN!!! If you are ready to get injured its fine. Haha. It is a rush and rewarding when you get the hang of it. There is definitely a line that you have to find for yourself. It requires a lot of practice in either lighter wind or smaller kites. Some...

I don't know of any groups or anything yet, but I am sure you can find people in Hood River area. But if that doesn't work, just finding a local open field works just fine or Long Beach / Sunset Beach if you have a kite. Other than that, just explore bike trails etc to find a spot for you.

Most of the time, I use my 10m² kite for kite-mountainboarding on a flat beach (with hard sand). And a 6m² kite when the wind is strong. Sometime I ride with a large 15m2, in low wind conditions (85 kg, and a Comp MBS board 8"). When you need 12m2 on water , you can ride with 6 or 10 on a flat grou...

Yes, the resistance on ground is less because you have wheels, so there is less friction. But on the water, the kite pulls you and the board against the opposing force of the water. Kind of like rowing a boat vs pulling a cart.

? Land Boarding / Buggying ?

I am sort of new to this and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of boards are good for landboarding. I have a board already, but it is only for cruising down the beach. I was looking into purchasing a new one for possibly jumping/freestyle. I have seen good reviews of Kite Mechanic Kiteboards, T...
