It's serious stuff! Please Help!

Today, there is a violent E-Boards "social média business" explosion where all the modest knowledge (culture?) accumulated here by few passionates is simply ignored/distroyed by a bunch of nerds/hipsters/posers who consider a 20kg/$4000 board as a standard ... Few years ago, you might be lynched her...

My ambition for 2017 : Flexboardz G2 E-board using standard RC components and closed geared transmission... and pretty soon without hand held remote control

Re: 7" wheels

yes, on hard ground, it's fine.
If it's a bit soft, finding the right pressure, between too hard and too soft will be even harder.

Re: 7" wheels

I use to have 7" wheels with shallow longitudinal threads on some of my mtb/carving model. It's pretty good for road use as it has a good grip and reduces quite a bit the weight of the wheels. Only problem with smaller wheels is that you have to adjust the pressure pretty accurately... it needs high...

Re: Trampa new electric

there is a lot of "dust" on the electric devices market...plenty designs, products and prices.... but it's going down very quickly. During the last years, the RC components were the only easily available (motor+belt transmission)... the DIY era! Recently, in wheel motors arrived but only for skate w...

Re: The Electric opportunity for MTB

"IMO biggest problem for lack of standard MB popularity is price and riding areas" Agree 100% : price is the main problem/driver and it is supposed to lower when(if) Eboard market develop enough to bring scale benefits... And for the lack of riding area, Eboards might be a solution as slope is not n...

Re: The Electric opportunity for MTB

I also wanted to add that Trampa recently added electric boards (and accessories) to its products range.

As Trampa is the only mtb brand that managed to survive (beside mbs) and grow, they might have some good market feelings....

Re: Gilaboards: Full suspension board

you are absolutely right...the interest to have such an hi-tech frame/suspension is to add power/speed to it (at least to compensate for the extra weight) In fact it was supposed to be one of my next post in the Shed about bajaboard : http://www.bajaboard.com.au/ [img]http://bajaboard.herokuapp.com/...

I take the opportunity to sincerely thank you to bring back the forum...that's a piece of culture that you saved here (at least a sum of experience, knowledge and good sense) ! Also, welcome back in France. I agree that E-mountainboard is a better format for urban commuting than skateboard (safety, ...

Re: The Electric opportunity for MTB

You are right, costs, availability and reliability of efficient electric kits have long been prohibitive...it was the DIY era! But it is greatly improving lately, at least for the skateboard format... an electric kit(motor+battery+controller) for skateboard can be found for few $100's (from 200$ to ...

The Electric opportunity for MTB

Well, if we look at the last +-20 years of mountainboard history, the few of us left to know about it have to agree that it was basically an industrial/commercial failure. The initial promise of the "Summer snowboarding" never really happened. Climbing uphill with heavy board and gear is a simple ex...
