Re: Ride Flame Mountainboards

I've seen them in action. They a bit lower than other boards and use a simsilar sistem to the old GI cubes. Don't expect to put another type of truck on them unless you drill ohter holes. Haven't ever seen one used in freestyle. Maybe I didn't get the chance. Other than my personal feeling -I think ...

Re: New MBS trucks?

I think the problem is with the baseplate material. I don't where they get it or it's composition. I've had some knockoff plastic top plates for more than two years now. They barely stretched. And I've had an interesting conversation recently in which I found out CNC milling metal ones is really cos...

Looking for truck setup advice

A lot of things happened since this time last year and mountainboarding regrettably had to take a back seat. I missed a lot. Anyway, Trampa sells these titanium skate trucks. They're pretty lightweight and they grabbed my attention for a board update. They're going to be set up on a 35 short that's ...

Yes I believe Nompas are really cool. I read all could find about them.
As long as I can find everything I need I'll attempt my own build.

Any board for your weight works. It's really that easy when you're starting. Mountainboarding is one of the cheapest board sports out there. Mostly because our equipment is very durable and easy to fix, mod or upgrade. Top two companies on the market right now are MBS and Trampa (nosno's are hard to...

Thoughts, ideas on board building

This year has written "new board" all over it. I'm tired of riding wood. I want to crash into mud and rain without the fear of soaking up layers. Since I am prepared to shell out 3 months of work on it, maybe I can do something special. A while ago I drew a board to visualize my thoughts. It looked ...

First one, I got scared of landing mid spin and botched it.
Second one I over rotated and landed in a manual.
Third attempt went smooth and I tried another one. I took a break after because I was starting to get too confident. It's a decent ramp, I didn't have to pump as much as I thought initially.

My F4s broke exactly like yours. Both of them. That thin plastic inside snapped. Fortunately, I had some really though rubber that I used to fix them. It was quite an easy repair and I haven't had one problem since.

Here's the album.

If they really want to add treads, they should go look at the grass skis designs, and integrate them into a truck that should be placed longboard or mountainboard style not skateboard style (under the rider's feet). But the question is, what would adding threads accomplish? Other than adding more pa...

I honestly don't feel that way at all. I transitioned from skateboarding to mountain 4 years ago on a used board that cost me as much as a good skate. It was delaminated, the F3 bindings were chaffed out of existence, the all terrain tyres turned into slicks and the top plastic top hanger stretched ...

Follow up. Tested a "prototype". Design is fundamentally flawed when it comes to steering (press right it goes left, etc.). The deck gets significantly raised and you get the feeling of riding something else entirely. It looks interesting as an idea but it's a very bad ride. I'm honestly glad it tur...

I have this idea for a board and trucks

http://imgur.com/a/bS6TE The reasoning behind it was to make a hybrid mountainboard that could be converted into a longboard(sort of) with just a switch of the wheels. I wanted to be able to use the deck with other types of trucks. I also wanted some bushing trucks for it, so I combined some ideas ...

It's heavier compared to what I had. I know how to do them but true they're not automatic yet. I was having doubts because of the size and radius. It throws me in length but not much in height, so I was questioning if my head would pass safely. When I'm ready mentally I'm going to attempt one and co...

No, my board is pretty heavy (8kg) so until I learn how to manage that weight I'm not going to risk it.
Thanks for the advice. It was really helpful.

That weight though...
Does it have any camber? I can't tell from the pictures.
How does it flex on landings?

I want to try to backflip off a small kicker.

Somehow I managed to learn how to flip in these past months. There's a problem with decent ramps in my city and I don't have the tools and knowledge to build one myself. Or where to place it so everyone could use it. There is this small concrete kicker though, where I can pick up decent speed. My qu...
