Thanks for the replies guys, and about popping it...I really don't know xD But the shield came loose and won't go back in and the metal bit that holds the little ball bearings in place has come loose. So yeah it's relatively f*cked...xD I think they'll be easier to get out a second time round, I thi...

Mountainboard Maintenance

I'm not sure how, or when, but at some point while I was out yesterday, I managed to pop my front right tyres' inner bearing... :/ I will be ordering some new bearings soon, if someone could drop a link to a good set of mountainboard bearings to buy I would appreciate. More importantly, how do I get...

Here's a picture of my board, really bad quality I know, I'll get one with my phone sometime and upload that one.

Northwich was pretty good, the hills there are nice, and steep enough for me to get a nice amount of speed, jumping up and down curbs just feels so awesome. The park was good too, nice steep path down with high banks at each side, had quite a lot of fun. I'll try and take a picture and post it on so...

Even though the tyres say that the maximum they hold is 60 psi? Won't I just damage the tyres doing that? I need some better bearings anyway, these seem used quite a lot at the very least.

At the moment converse style shoes, they go slightly bigger at the end so they don't come out of the bindings so much, which is pretty helpful. Might try out some walking boots though, a bit more ankle support might be good.

So guys, are there any better bearings than what my board came with? It came with Abec-5's which sounds a little bit crap in all honestly. After riding skateboards for a couple of years Abec-5'3 are the worst you could get. Are there Abec-9's or 11's maybe? It's just it seems pretty slow when I'm go...

Okay then, thanks Ben on both counts. I will attempt to take and then add some decent pictures some time soon then. Yeah, I like Asking Alexandria...

I went for my first proper ride today at Eastham. It went pretty well, I did fall over once, because I had to turn round a sharp-ish corner and I turned too far so I had to turn back again and I ended up losing control pretty badly...xD So I've got a nice big cut on my right palm, a little one on th...

love your enthusiasm and i must admit i eventually also came to the conclusion that i needed heel straps myself, but many people never use them at all and there are lots of tricks that can only be done without heel straps. perhaps most importantly id say that during your current level of skill/prog...

Twist your feet so you put pressure on the L brackets on the binding, that will lock your feet in place without heelstraps. MBS will be the easiest heelstrap to go for, they will fit straight onto your bindings. Which way should I twist my feet, in or out? Those were the ones that I've looked at th...

I'm going to need some heel straps, any good makes you guys could suggest would be appreciated. My feet just keep slipping out, though I've only messed around on it on the road by mine so far.

What would you guys recommend me cleaning the bearings with? Are Abec-5 bearings the standard ones that most mountain boards come with? If I used oil would they be okay for me? I will try and get some pictures up some time soon, but you'll have to tell me how.
Thanks in advance,

By the way, I actually have the board now, I decided to buy the second-hand Leon Robbins one. I'm pretty happy with it too, it came to me pretty muddied up today at about 3:00pm so I spent about an hour hosing the tyres down and scrubbing the deck a bit, it looks much nicer now. I'm definitely happy...

I'm 16 Ben. Brennig, I try pretty hard to avoid being classic, I like being different...I know this isn't really what you meant, but I do intend to ride it quite often. Though I'm just starting Sixth Form, so that will come first if I want some good grades. But yeah I will try not to hurt myself or ...

Oh trust me, I do not intend to play it safe in the slightest, maybe for the first couple of runs, but after that I intend to try out some hard tricks and see how they turn out xD That's how I do things.

slide your head in to a rock or tree. plus if you catch your toe edge, its pretty easy to fall on your knees and there is no escaping smashed knees. Well then, these are the things keeping me from falling over badly. I don't intend to go to Ride The Hill for a while at least, and when I do I'll pro...

I prefer it to be dry, that way I get less mud and dirt getting into the wheel grips etc, and onto the bottom of the board. I'm also used to going out when it's dry because of longboarding and skateboarding. Old habits you know...

I might consider getting the one for £200 the Leon Robbins one, especially if you guys think buying it second hand would be fine. Otherwise I'll probably stick to persuading my mother.

have you got a decent helmet and pads? No...and honestly I don't intend to get any, I mean I am a relatively safe person, don't land badly from things...like trampolining, so I'm not going to. I'll go without and if I hurt myself then you guys can all say: "I told you so." Hopefully that won't happ...
