You're right, for quick transitions, dropping in sideways helps.
It depends on the speed you carry when dropping in, and the size of the transition.
The faster you go and the shorter the transition, the more benefits of dropping in at an angle.

No reason a board should be slow, except for dead bearings or flat tires. Sounds like you're set!
Also, I _think_ the Gen Is come with red trucks, and the Gen IIs come with black trucks, so you may have lucked out and got a Gen II...

It sounds like you don't know what concave is or how to tell? Concave means that when you stand on your board with feet in the bindings, the board isn't flat under your feet. It arches a bit from your heel to your toes, and usually is in contact with your toes and heel where a regular "flat" board w...

Blades were awesome yes.
Watch out though. If the deck has concave, you want to be gentle with it as it will crack otherwise. If no concave, jump away.

As for drilling, I would fill the existing holes with epoxy glue, and rotate the board 180 degress before drilling new holes.

wow mikael i should start taking you more seriously :P awesome transfers and loving the rolling drop in. Don't worry, you're not the first to make that type of mistake. You know better now though If you feel better with heelstraps, ride with heelstraps. Personally, I like the freedom to kick and mo...

Why would those things fill up with gravel? Wouldn't the gravel come out right away?

I think these look very interesting, but to get a stiff ride you need to fill all the holes with plastic pegs, and you end up with a heavy wheel. Maybe if there was more of a compromise with a regular wheel?

It's probably about saving money on manufacturing costs so MBS can make more margin. Fair enough.

I've never even bothered with plastic brackets.

Trampa decks are heavier but they're indestructible. Also they have different thicknesses so you can get a softer and lighter ride or a harder and heavier deck.
MBS decks only come in one shape. I personnally did not like Trampa, and switched back to MBS but I feel like I'm the only one.

I had an awesome time too, even though I only rode a few times. Thanks Curtis for letting us ride this really awesome boardercross course, it probably has the best flow I've seen.

The coccyx protection does have some padding, though less than other places. The nicest thing about the hillbilly ones is that they have pads in exactly the right spots, and they're very breathable. On a hot day, take your pants down in the breeze for a minute and you'll be dry again... (did I reall...
