Hi Nick, do the mbs channel trucks need to be modified at all, i.e. the noggin bit cut/angle grinded off, or do they just fit over the top?
Cheers!

Hi Tom, yeah, without generalising too much, many of the younger riders ride in the bare minimum (skate-helmet, knee, elbow and wristguards), whilst many of the older riders up the protection a little. I call it the 'mortgage' effect. I think it's worth going for the uplift alone and the track is wi...

Not the best answer, but here we go! Don't know about the PS Pros, but on the MBS Trispokes, the spacers create a small ~1-2mm gap between the disk and the plastic hubs. I'm lead to believe this is to stop the thermal transfer of heat from the disks melting the hubs. The RS Pros wont melt but in my ...

Hmm, can't seem to see the actual reason you are doing it on the blog, I can't for the life of me work out why you would want such a thing. Boring, crappy answer - It's a stopwatch . Also, regarding the camera post - specifically the line "a camera firmware update switched the unit back to 30fps an...
People had problems with the Dampas when using the no-spring modification, but at all other times swapping egg shocks for dampas is normal (and is actively encouraged!). Edit - didn't properly read your post. Pro trucks will be a bit tighter so eggs will fit fine, dampas, not so sure. I shouldn't po...

Both ways are possible, it's all a matter of either sufficient weight, or sufficient leverage. My preferred method would be to insert the kingpin and then springs/dampas as follows: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/T3KrDp3pEPc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></ifra...

Brake Handle Push Switch
I've adapted the brake handle of my ABS brake to incorporate a push switch on the end that can be easily operated when adopting the Goofy Mark style of brake operation. Regular Dirt-Box blog readers will know what my plans are, but that's not important right now. My question to you is, if you had a ...

Easy enough to re-drill, if you have the right tooling, then you'll need 5 longer bolts per disk, plus 5 spacers per disk. If you are buying from ABS direct then it should be a relatively easy option for Nick to do for you, or if you are buying second hand from somewhere, then ABS or someone with a ...

So with the board in the central position, are all eggs free to wobble? If this is correct and I've understood your situation right, then in may be worth cranking down your springs a bit to avoid a wobbly bit in the middle before you have turned sufficiently to make contact with the eggs and can sta...

Hey Petridis, is it the standard Core 95 - Vector Trucks and Twistar Hubs? If so, I don't think (but I'll happily be proved wrong) that the trucks have standard holes for the MBS V5 brakes to fit into. If the V5 did fit, then the metal disks to make contact with wouldn't fit onto the Twistar Hubs. A...
