uni wheel board

This board's roots have to date back to the homemade board "Tox" brought out to Boreal in 1999. I don't think I have any photos of it, but he later redesigned his homemade board as a 3 wheel inline type. I remember watching him attempt to ride his one wheel board down the course. Insane! He even ent...

Riot, try to reach out and contact Gene R Lott (possibly facebook). He is a mountainboarding OG from Texas (Kemp I believe). He is older guy (like me) with lots of riding experience. I know Texas is a big state, but hopefully you could contact Gene and get some good info and advice. Tell him "DIRTHE...

One way I promote the sport is when I ride at skateparks. First skaters ask if I'm going to "ride that thing" here. Then I proceed to bind up on the coping of the park's deepest bowl. That usually gets their attention. I also promote, organize, and teach mountainboarding at local Boy Scout Reservati...

Your prototype looks impressive. I think a simplified light weight version may be fun to ride in the right conditions. I will have to keep an eye on the progress.

I think that transition height and amount of vert are big factors on which is better, turning or jumping from a 50-50 position. There is also personal preferance, and one way could work better for one individual and another for someone else. I mostly just turn into my drop. this allows me the full h...

this is all gold! thank you so much man! any chance of a video of you dropping in from 50-50 position? also any tips for setting up? i mean high psi is obvious and i found looser trucks are critical for carving, how about heel straps? Sorry, no videos. I mostly session alone, so I'm lucky just to g...

The last two photos were taken at a session where Ryan Nyquist was killing it, until the cops pulled up and all the bikers had to leave. Felt kinda cool that I got to stay and session (this was a public park that didn't allow BMX). http://www.surfingdirt.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=83&pictureid=10...

http://www.surfingdirt.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=80&pictureid=1703 After hanging up on the coping during a backside air over the lip, I've changed my "above the coping" strategy on bowl riding. Now I always only do frontside airs, and make sure to eye my landing and extend my legs, once the rea...

I pretty much took a break from bowl riding for about a couple years. Earlier this year, I got back into it. I've had a session in a small to medium size bowl, then went to LCRSP (in San Jose) and rode several large features. I don't have any photos of my riding at LCRSP, but I hope to go back and d...

If your surf travels take you near Santa Cruz, hit me up. I'm down to hit the water and will try to think of some nearby costal mountainboarding spots.

This is awesome! I am also currently working with one scout reservation with their mountainboard program, and have another camp onboard for next year also. This is a great way to get the youth on mountainboards. Good work guys :)

Rich, thanks for posting your questions and concerns here. I still think that SurfingDirt is the best place to find and share mountainboarding info. Welcome back to the USA! Unfortunately, it seems like travel is mandatory to stay in the US scene. I try to push my local scene, and promote the sport ...
