The big downside is the weight though. You'll need more power and more energy storage than e-skateboards, on top of already heavy mountainboard designs.

Worth doing (right), though.

That does look like a lot of fun. Having a baked-in braking system is nice too.
For me the most important part would be to have a wireless controller.

Shouldn't be a problem really. Top trucks usually only break on impact (big impacts).

I have definitely felt those vibrations before. Mostly riding down asphalt. It would be nice for sure, though while riding dirt, you would not feel the difference I think.

I would say the longer the board the better, but apart from the comp95x, which also comes with bigger 9" wheels (not sure if you want 8", it's a matter of preference), there's not much choice in terms of board length. If you can find an MBS comp95x, it should be a good board for dirt windsurfing.

Yeah I'd definitely agree with Alan. The most likely thing you're gonna do is huck it and since flips aren't automatic for you yet, you're likely to land sideways, overrotate, underrotate, all kinds of bad things. You could definitely learn them on that kicker, but it's likely that you'll hurt yours...

You also don't have to start with heel straps. It's a cultural thing. In the US people tend not to use them. In Europe almost everyone does.

I wonder how heavy that system would have to be to survive mountainboarding.

You won't believe what a difference 8-inch wheels will make. A couple of things: - 8" tires work with 8" tubes, so if you intend to buy just the tires, you'll need tubes too. - lighter hubs such as the rockstar or rockstar pros won't fit 9" tires. So if you're on a budget, I'd recommend looking for ...

Also $90 is a great deal, I'd recommend getting F3 or F4 bindings.
This is a downhill board, so it's longer than most and has bigger (9") wheels. Over time, you may want to get smaller wheels if you want something lighter.
