Also Bryce, I thought by now you would have stopped getting the urges of punching people in the face. I mean, you do have a mirror in your bathroom, right?

Hey Charley, a bunch of us are going to be riding slickrock and other places early May... check out https://www.facebook.com/events/731453276897908/ PM me if you can't join. I would stick to the MBS Pros if you think you're gonna be serious about riding. Freeride boards are heavy and hard to move ar...

I rode them around 2000 also, and was mostly fine with them. I've never tried them on a mountainboard.
I don't think they'd be very comfortable with regular shoes, though. There's very little padding there.

If we say no, are you going to do one? :)

I don't think I've ever seen one. Even on a snowboard, I don't think I've ever seen that.

Padding on or over the collar bone will not help. As Sam indicated, falling on your shoulder is what breaks the collar bone. Happens in all boardsports, biking, etc.
So unless your body armor has really thick pads (like 5cm-thick) covering the whole shoulder, they're not going to save it.

Height-wise, I would say 4ft is probably a good size for a mountainboard. Smaller is gonna suck. As for the exit angle, I'd say 70/75 degrees, you don't want any vert on that. I must say I've never built one though. Should I shut up, maybe?

Sorry, I don't know any mountainboarder out there that could help, but I do know about a lowboard rider that might know some places. He comes here every now and then but I forget which nickname he's using these days.

Good job guys, it takes some serious motivation to get into the business of building.... well, anything, but boards in particular! As for remarks, I agree with Will, the deck is too short for all the reasons he mentioned. I would also suggest using a tripod for your videos, it'll force you to presen...

A picture would help, but it sounds like you either had the wrong parts in the first place, put them back together the wrong way, or lost something.

The only time I lost a spring was when I rode ultra loose trucks with no eggs in them, and old springs. Should not happen nowadays.

If a longboard is too big, a mountainboard will be worse. Also mountainboards are heavy and can get flats. I don't think I'd want to commute with one.

Shoulder pads will prevent scrapes, but they won't do anything to protect your collar bone, so I personally don't bother.
