The first 4WD E-Flex with 4 new (flashy) hubmotors (for 12" tires) and a more compact battery to be integrated under the deck.

We are thinking about developing a power kit : hub motor+ LiFePO4 battery + power control that can be installed on any standard mountainboard ...

High quality components (battery, controller, motor) will be used to provide few years of daily commuting.

Our main question is : will the customers be willing to pay for the extra quality compared to cheap electric skates?

Feel free to answer...

It will be installed on the wheel axle so there is not so many different mount (12 mm, 10 mm or 3/8")

Here are basically the caracteristics of the kit :

motor : brushless/gearless 300 à 1200 w
battery :LiFePO4 24v 12 ah 10C

weight : 2.5 kg motor + 4 kg battery...
Price : 650 euros

By the time the kit is ready, you will be making a fortune with sticks deck :)
Battery pack can replace the spacer on your design...

I highly doubt the fortune, or any money from it. Since my idea is out there now. Anybody with some financial backing could profit from it before I could; however, at the very least everybody will know where the idea/R&D came from.

I really like the universal electric kit, that definitely makes an electric board more affordable for people that have extra boards laying around.

"Anybody with some financial backing..." I sometimes wonder if such a person exists within our boardriding world....

Thanks for the comment on the universal electric kit !

Great concept. Have you considered a rear mounted pivoting handle as an option? It allows a boarding stance and is rider friendly when dealing with acceleration. It also folds flat for storage and transport. Just a thought. You should be able to find off the shelf tech. to keep costs down. Very exciting.

The rear mounted handle could be a great idea if it allows a boarding stance (which is not really the case of normal handle bar)...we will have to test ride it

I would definitely pay 650-700 for a kit. I wish I could find one from a reputable design/tech company.

For the time being, we are a bit busy with the launch of the Flexscoot...
However, recently we have seen that 8" hubmotors are available now from suppliers.... so we might resume the project soon.
