That's quite a load of wood!

I post on Swaylock's from time to time. But as a surfboard design/build forum, members are not too receptive to off-topic posts.

A couple of other surf forums (I do not post at these):

2nd Light (Florida)

http://www.2ndlight.com/fusetalk/forum/categories.cfm?catid=3&entercat=y

Real Surf (Australia)

http://forum.realsurf.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4

Surfer Magazine (i.e. Magazine Surfer)

http://forum.surfermag.com/forum/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB1

But most surf forums are pretty territorial and view non-surf related posts as spam. Surfer forums can be among the most elitist, arrogant and hostile.

BTW How much does one of your Flexscootz cost?

Thanks for your reply about the surf forum. It is not totally off topic as it can replace with benefit the old smelly surf-car for the spot check...
Here, in Les Landes forrest(north of hossegor), there are long beaches with no access road during few miles. In this case, the flexscoot is helpful to ride few km away from the crowd on the wet sand (I plan to make a vid about it...it will be more fun than the one below).

Flexscoot will be at 1500 usd.

Seems like a fair price.

As an old fart, I'd rather ride one of your Flexscootz around town than a Hoveround.

I like it!

I still say you should sell a board rack accessory that attaches to the rear of the scooter.

I wanted to post a video of the new version of the seated flexscoot (sort of mobility/senior scooter) but, for some unknown reasons, the video allready appears in the post n°2 above (senior carver in place of one of my old video ) !!

If someone can explain me how this is possible and remind me how a post videos here, I will be happy to do so

Hey Flex,

I think your seated mobility scooter concept has great potential.

Getting it visible in the right markets will be the real challenge. A lot of leg work, product shows/conventions and sell, sell, sell...

What is top speed of the seated model? Price $US?

thanks BG. The (sad) truth is that the mobility scooter market is much larger than the board market.

Top speed of present model is +- 40 km/h but I don't insist too much on it as regular mobility scooter goes at 7 km/h max. Being able to ride safely on indoor/sidewalk (-5km/h) + bike lanes (25/30 km/h) would already be an achievement.
Price will be a bit above 1000 euros due to seat and stability control system costs (reduced if produced on large scale).

In fact, I plan to propose it to mobility scooter companies (don't have the means to develop/commercialize it). If they give me enough to make boards for my mates, it will be perfect. In addition, I will find it ironic to transfer technology from a low tech market like skate/mtboards to high tech industry like health...

Flex
Any chance you are going to throw your hat in the ring again with an electric flexboard? I get the easer to use scooters have a larger market. It just seems like with the electric skate revolution going on you will be a little less ahead of the curve and more accepted.. NO speed wobbles, larger wheels, lower deck et...
I will build a hard carving electric flexboard when I find acceptable hub motors for the mbs or flex style wheels.

Keep it up!!!!!

Thanks TornadoB for your kind words!

You clearly summarized the situation (for what I understand): Flexscoot is easier to market (considering my limited means)... and electric revolution is going on.... when a good hubmotor solution will be available (there is now one for skate wheels), it will really open new opportunity... and I might seriouly look for my hat :)

Flex,

You should build an electric version of this. Maybe even a single, powered rear wheel and two front wheels for steering instead of the standard trike.
I think the asthetics of old-school trikes and variants might be more appealing to the electric transportation market.

It's been a while. Can you post the YouTube URL/link? If you post the link for me to play with, maybe I can figure it out...
