I'd suggest a 12ft radius for a 4ft kicker which would make it about 9ft long and give you an approximate take off angle of 38 degrees.

Tell me how fast you're hitting the kicker and I'll tell you how high you'll go, how long you'll spend in the air, and where you'll land. (As an example, if you hit the kicker at 5 m/s, which is about 11mph, you'll reach a height of 1.68 metres, be in the air for 0.9 seconds and cover a distance of 3.54 metres.)

Are you sure that's accurate enough? :D

I'll add 0.31 s after takeoff to reach maximum height, if wind speed is neglected and g = 9.81 m/s^2, and velocity components at landing of v = 3.94 î - 5.75 ĵ or modulus v = 6.97 m/s :-)
- Enjoy the Ride -

How would you build this kicker? I was gunna just make it with the to sides as plywood cut in the right shape, but I can't do this if its 9ft long, any suggestions? Should I build it like the hales kicker?

you could try and build it in a way which would allow you to add on the extra ft at a later stage...

If you've got the wood, and the space, and the speed for a bigger kicker, and you want to go higher and do bigger tricks, then go for 5ft high. How are you building the landing?

You're not a pain. I'd go for 15ft radius.

That last kicker can be seen here http://drawmeakicker.com/?id=81
Exit angle is 48, not 38 though.
