Aluminium Longboard...

Post by etchy6 » Fri Mar 08, 2013 8:59 am

My friend mike has his own clothing brand, and has progressed onto designing longboards... now, a longboard is a longboard. Right?

WRONG!

this is an aluminium deck with cut throughs for weight reduction... i dont have too much details on it at the moment but Im going to be picking one up in the next few days and will know more about it...

check it out!

I just saw the photo ATBShop put on FB. I'd be pretty interested in giving it a ride before parting with any cash for it. Personally I'm still working on the Lush/Trampa mash up I have in my mind.

There was a company a couple years back that was making aluminum longboards. But I think they stopped.

There have been some very unique custom built aluminum longboards on silverfishlongboarding.com

Here is a company that is making aluminum longboards:

Looks cool but does it have any concave?

Also what are the benefits of a metal longboard than a wooden one?

they're great for cutting your fingers open on once you've skuffed the edges up a bit. A gimmick for hanging on the wall imho. Ridden a couple of ali decks and they both felt like all kinds of wrong. That thing may have holes for weight reduction but it still weighs in heavier than a landyachtz evo deck.

I don't ride my LY Switch because its a beast to lug around. Wouldn't fancy riding anything heavier.

Trampa/Lush combo would be light and when it gets mashed just file out the burrs.
