MBS Binding Screws

Post by Daleyg3 » Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:07 am

Ello all,

Cut straight to the chase, I lost 1 bindings screw last night, the screw was from an F3 Binding originally but I have F4's now. My Comp 6 deck wouldn't fit the F4 screws so they're in my big box of things..

I love my deck but a new one may be on the cards as I'm downhilling quite a bit atm. Any know where I could obtain F3 screws? (that attach right angled 90 degree parts to the deck, idk technicial term). Also recommendations on a new MBS or Trampa deck for downhilling with F4 bindings and MBS Pro trucks would be great!

If I had lost a screw it would take another out and take it to screfix to get a match and I would also invest in a small tube of locktight/thread lock a small dab of it on the thread of the screw would stop it from coming loose

what kyrten said, alternatively there are 'save the ride' kits sold by mbs which i would guess have the said screw.

The part u are talking about are known as L brackets by the way, and also reffered to as binding posts.

As for downhill boards, nosno?

second hand nosnos go for much less than new mbs/trampa decks. :)

As for just decks, i think i prefer mbs decks for downhill.

In the way of getting new screws, you should be able to pick the binding screws up at almost any hardware store. I loaded up on screws for my ride kit.

Any hardware store should have what you want. Just bring one similar to show them what you're looking for. Sometime ago I lost one of the screws that attach the biding to the L-bracket, when I installed heel straps to the F4s. I then decided to change all 4 to longer ones, since the originals are too short, just barely attaching. Finding them was easy, even in my village's hardware store. Have a slightly different head but works the same.

Tried 5 different hardware stores today, including Screwfix, Toolmaster and Halfords.. no luck :( really don't want to spend £20 on a save a ride kit for something worth a max of 2!

The bolts for mounting the L brackets to the board are M6 x 12mm. I have a comp 16 with f3 bindings and thats what I use. They should be easy to find, but usually with a larger allen head.
