leaning wheels truck design

Post by Flexboardz » Wed Apr 30, 2014 11:07 am

Not exactly a mountainboard but the truck design might inspire some shed members (at least the smartest who believe that cambered wheels is mtb future)...

In any case a nice try that deserve a bit of promotion for their kickstarter campain : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1690474092/lean-skateboard-leans-into-turns?ref=discovery

Looking good.
I wonder how heavy that system would have to be to survive mountainboarding.

I agree 100% for the mountainboard... it's more adapted to the longskate scale.

I dont understand what problem that design solves. Why is it better than normal trucks?

First, the whole axle doesn't steer (like on a car)... and more important, leaning wheels improve the grip compared to regular (vertical) wheels...

I agree that the rigid axle poor performances might waste this advantages though

This has been tried before and failed on the bmw carve stick a hugely expensive bit of kit as can be expected from bmw this one however seems a bit better but I really don't think it's going to do much other than on the sea front cruisers I certainly won't be selling my sabres or ronins to get a set
