Day Job Retired & Semi_Hollow Quest

I have retired from my day job. Don't know how much riding I will be doing due to past injuries and health issues.
But I plan to start working on some deck-build technology in a few months. Will post it here.
Maybe we can get more activity in The Shed.
I am still on my quest for a feather light, deck building technology.
I think a variant of this surfboard building technology may be the final piece to my puzzle (read several posts past this link):

That could yield something amazing. Perhaps you could talk to ted and trampa and get some of his stuff for the top and bottom layers, with a wood, foam or plastic honeycomb sort of thing in between?
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I think Ted's material may be too heavy and maybe too flexible.
I think the key is wood skins over a re-enforced foam lattice core.
Some amount of composite may be needed over the wood skins (fiberglass and/or carbon fiber).
I had a variant idea similar to the first picture shown a few years ago but abandoned it -- midpoint stabilized torsion box cells. The wood skins concept has resurrected my earlier design idea.

Still have lots of loose ends to tie up that are work/retirement related. And it is starting to get too cold to do epoxy composite work.

I am convinced that a bit of technology and good sense can bring a lot of improvement compared to present deck...

Thanks Flex. Still cleaning out 26.5 years of garbage from my old office. I have kept too much already. Will need to go through it all a second time and get more ruthless.

Lots of chores and unfinished projects to complete. A lot more than I remembered. Hopefully I can finish enough of these to get back to MB and SB build technology soon.
