Gilaboards: Full suspension board

Post by Flexboardz » Mon Nov 07, 2016 7:46 am

The topic of a fully suspended board has been often discussed here in the Shed...generally involving double wishbone suspensions...

Gilaboards finally built it : http://www.gilaboard.net/

They also proposed it on kickstarter (with limited success) : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/21 ... skateboard

Doesn't look like a simple suspension to manufacture/assemble. Not cheap at $1.200+.
I remember this one from a while back:

Yes, Bajaboard also made a crowdfunding campaign few years ago (with limited success) at 3000$ for an 4wd eboard. They are announcing a coming model since quite a long time.
Frankly, I don't see a market at such a price, even for board passionates like you and me...

It would be a good model for a powered setup. With suspension like that you could have 1 central motor and use drive shafts to put power to the wheels

you are absolutely right...the interest to have such an hi-tech frame/suspension is to add power/speed to it (at least to compensate for the extra weight)

In fact it was supposed to be one of my next post in the Shed about bajaboard :

yes, with such a price tag (around $5000), it will probably remain virtual ...
