My Quiver/Ride(s) - Your Quiver/Ride(s)

Post by BgSurfer » Fri Jul 03, 2009 5:24 pm

Post your ride(s)/quiver.

My main rides are street carvers. Most were made by customizing with old MBS parts and decks -- only way to get what I wanted and more bang for the buck. Have a FS dirtsurfer and a few other custom rigs that need assembling also. Ride them all every weekend (except the stock Gen II Razor).

Image

Stock Gen II Razor with 15" axles and airliner tires -- not a main ride, headed for the cusomizing hangar (left).
Modified Gen II Razor with 18" Meltdown Series MBS frameboard dual-shock axle and 8-3.00-4 smooth tires -- adding a touch of speed to hard-lean, ultra-tight street carvig (right).

Modified Gen I Razor with 16" axles and 8-3.00-4 smooth tires -- ultra-reponsive hard lean street carver (left).
Modified Gen II Razor with 18" Meltdown Series MBS frameboard dual-shock axle and 8-3.00-4 smooth tires (right).

Image

Gen I Blade with standard 16" axles and 8-3.00-4 smooth tires -- a general purpose street carver.

My late model Comp 16 deck with limited edition 20" Matrix Lites (1 spring position -- outside setting) and 8-3.00-4s -- speed carver & urban stealth bomber.

You counted one twice (the modified Gen II Razor with 18" axles). Only 5 different rigs posted. But I have more than pictured and many surplus parts unassembled. What can I say? I can't pass up a good deal being isolated as hell in rural west KY. Besides I'm OCD as hell -- can't ride over cracks in the sidewalk...:D

Each one is a different experiment with it's own unique ride.

Where is B.A.?

What keeps you there? I hope your considering CR for retirement, we could use a guy like you on team Gringo. Then again if you were living this close to waves we would probably have to hold a gun to your head to get your ass on a dirtboard.

Can't afford to lose my Federal retirement benefits -- may lose them when the US economy crashes anyway. However, I do have the best little slab of west KY carving pavement in my own backyard.

Have heard many tales of CR surf. But every break goes flat. Dirtboards have been my methadone program for surf addiction several years now. I believe I'm addicted to methadone too now.

You didn't answer ... Where's B.A. ?

And dont worry about the benefits, I got a guy that can show up and sign your checks for you and deposit them into account, its uncanny how much he looks like you. And since he only works one nite out of the year Im sure he would be more than happy to do it for you.

The South Will Rise Again

Post by BgSurfer » Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:06 am

Have heard many riders speak of the Green Comp 16 with reverence. What makes it so special -- the carbon fiber stringers?

PS: Judging from the first picture, I'm guessing your country youth was spent in the south. Which state?

I think the green monster gets a lot of love because it was the last mountianboard that was actually built to last. The deck and trucks were indestructable and the diamond tread are still the best IMO. The green comp was the big jump for mountainboarding I think. A lot of people got in during that time, and look back on the greenmeanie with reverence, respect, and appreciation for showing them a better way of getting down the hill and enjoying life. God damn it Green Comp16, I effin love you.
