east coast meet n greet fo 2011

Post by buggley » Fri May 06, 2011 12:10 pm

does any one want to try for a mountain board trip this summer in or around west Virginia? it was mentioned that i was the center hub for most east coasters here in the us.
ive been eyeballing some trails locally and i know of a few resorts that would be great for a ride as well as a few awesome roads for street rides and skate parks etc.
i will be posting on the mountaineer face book page as soon as i can nail out the dates
and no i didnt die ive been working 70-80 hours a week and it is a grave yard shift. i am officially a lychnobite look it up ;)

I'd probably head down if you had something.
I'm trying to get people up to Canton PA for WMD June 18th

I was thinking about head to WV in Oct. for Bridge day at the New River Gorge and hit that road going into the gorge

If you can keep it 7 hours driving or less for me and there is a nice campground at a cooler time of year, I'd be interested in meeting some local/regional pneumatic riders -- and hitting some short steep asphalt runs that aren't suicidal.

there are plenty of camp grounds for rvs and tents (more for rvs) october would be nice but its a 50-50 with the rain here. i have lots of local spots for asphalt rides that wont kill you. i also have a long long run that i want to hit but i dont have spoters for the road there are some switch backs and some awsome speedy straights but it is on the road that leads to the swimm hole and boat ramp at the lake so it has heavy travle in the summer

Got no RV.

Just tent camping for me. My favorite tent spot is 6.5 hours away in Great Smoky Mountain National park, right next to a river.

Where are you thinking about having this (nearest city)?

maybe we could shoot for a two day ride one day for bridge day and another day for somewhere else. if we wanted to get out side wv bmx sounded like he had a good idea 1/2 mile hills would be great.
i guess the best thing to do is to make a few polls and see where we go.
i will find out what day bridge day is and look around at other holiday dates where people can get work off. if most of us have a hard time getting holidays off speak up so we know what to look for as far as a date

I'll pass on bridge day if you make yours around the same time, because it sounds like you have something for everybody by you. That road heading down into the gorge probably wouldn't be good for everybody.

iv found some sweet places to ride around Charlottesville and iv only been here 1 day, a 2 mile path down from Monticello and loads of other parks that you can ride in

but uh...i agree with putting up a poll so we can all vote on where we want to go

Seems like this event is Buggley's brainchild. He wants to have it in his backyard.

However, there is nothing stopping others from scheduling their own gatherings.
What we have got here is failure to communicate.
