I'm near Stourbridge so most of my spots are north Worcestershire, South Staffs and I'm looking at Gloucestershire. Notts and Derby would be a bit of a mission after work but its very tempting!

I guess this is the place to say, HI.
I am interested in boards and most everything about the boards. I have been riding boards of some type for longer than most of you have been around. Which means I am here, still asking questions and still learning.
Takes abit longer to recover than when I was young, but still recovering. LOL

Saying hi to everyone , had a look in here and the place seems pretty nice, plus a good
sum of advice as well - which i should have looked up before today's first ride (ever).
No i didn't have patience to buy/wear protection and Yes i do hurt when i sit on the chair now!
Talking about experience coming with age.. Anyone mentioned patience runs out? :)

Have a great summer everyone (or winter ,other hemispherites !)

Hi,
Just thought I should say hello here first. I've been skateboarding since I was a kid in the '80s and started my longboard obsession in the '90s. In my continuing effort not to grow up, now seems the perfect time to start hurting myself on a board off of the asphalt as well:rolleyes:

Thinking about buying the MBS Pro 100 Leon Robbins mountainboard, I'm new to mountainboarding but not new to board sports, I've skateboarded and longboarded before. Do you think this is a good board for me? I'm about 5 foot 8 maybe I'm not sure...and about 9 stone I think. Thanks
Dan

I checked, I actually am about 5 foot 8 inches, and 9 stones too. I'm better than I thought at guessing.

Well my long board is pretty long, about 40 inches I think, and that is fine for me. Mountain boards are skinnier so I think it should be just about fine, and I am 16 so I should be growing a bit in height so I might grow into it a bit...I hope. I am now thinking about the Tom Kirkman Pro 100 which is new and £550...xD Bit of an up to the price, but the one I was looking at previously was second-hand, so this should be a better choice.

welcome dirt rider.

as you can imagine this question has come up quite a few times before. so i think i can quite safely say that most people recommend not to go for 'cheap' board but you could always look for second hand boards online (quite a few around if you are willing to wait a week or two).

regardless what we need to know in order to help you choose a board:
-height
-weight
-style of riding
-terrain you will be riding in
-age ( incase you have some major growing to do)

I say a used Leon Robbins or TK Pro with Orange or Red eggs if you are in the USA, if you are in Europe go with those choices or find you a used trampa with a similar set up.

They all got rubber eggs in 'em of some sorts these are your dampers and essential for the trucks work, i know a few who have converted so they don't have springs in though it takes a little kit to do it

Hey, I got some Ground Industries raptor bindings, and I'm not sure what to do with the 4 rubber pieces they came with, seems like there should have been 6, and that they should have been the same shape. Can anyone explain this?
