Trampa Dampas fit MBS Pro 95?

Post by mbsrider » Mon Dec 03, 2012 7:26 pm

This might be a newbie question but way more people view the sd main forum. I don't like spring designs. If I took the springs out, could I buy some yellow trampa dampas and put them in there and not use springs? I saw a spring less board pic on SD and it looked cool and simpler. Is it possible? What are your thoughts?

Trampa Dampas fit inside the springs, there is a springless design you may want to look into but first I would recommend trying your board "as is" to begin with.

Springs are great!
If the eggs are fitted right with both ends in the cups they don't spring you back to center, they just push you back. Its a a similar feeling to riding a RKP trucks at speed :D
I can do a wheelie on a uni-cycle...

Yeah Ben! I've been riding for 3 years. I just needed a new board. Since my old one was worn out and old.

I got a mbs pro 95 retaliation, mbs fx heelstraps, and just ordered some mbs yellow egg shocks to replace the firm orange ones.I hope I don't have to buy anything else for awhile haha. I have a few questions. I've never used matrix (standard, lite, or pro) so I don't know this. On mbs.com there are pivot cups and bushings. Matrix don't use pivot cups or bushings right because they use springs and egg shocks. I don't know how to pit my yellow shocks in and take out the orange ones. I used to skate and I hated dealing with pivot cups mine would always break!

Thanks Jasper! Since my pro 95 will be in a component pack. Do you think it would be easier to change the egg shocks before I put the trucks on the board? And the pro 95 don't have any bushings, pivot cups, ect.

Never tried with a clamp, but when I changed my yellow eggs to orange ones on my comp 95 I used the help of a second person. Changing was a breeze. Just do it one at a time and ask your buddy to apply pressure, for ex. with its foot, on the opposite side your changing. Doing all 4 was a matter of minutes.
IMHO changing will be a lot easier if the trucks are mounted on the deck.

Sorry for double posting but does anyone know that the matrix pro trucks don't have bushings or pivot cups? just eggshocks and springs right?

yup, from near the ground up u will slide in bottom hat, spring, egg shock (inside the spring), tophat, washer. Then secure it with a small bolt at the bottom and a tension screw at the top. no pivot cups or bushings.
