MBS Comp 90 = Good beginning board?

Hello hello

Just wanting some opinions from the experienced folks. I'm looking at buying a used MBS Comp 90. I'm 5'2" and about 130lbs. I've skateboarded a fair amount several years ago, so I'm not entirely new to board sports. I live in the country and hated having to drive anytime I wanted to ride, so kind of lost interest in skateboarding.

Now I've discovered mountain boarding and would like to give it a go. So back to my question- would an MBS Comp 90 be a good place to begin? I'm mostly interested in free riding, maybe kite boarding at a later date.

Comp 90 is a good intermediate deck yes! If you can get it cheap, great place to start too.

Thanks for the reply- unfortunately, I was outbid at the last minute. :P But I'm now watching a Comp 6- which is the predecessor to the Comp 90 from what I understand?

That's correct Heather. It's about 4 years old or so, but the deck should still be good, and as long as the board was decently maintained by the previous owner, there should be no real issues.

Ah right, the Comp 6 is a bit older and much lighter, but if it has Matrix/channel trucks they're still a good ride.

Thanks again I got a bit sidetracked, but I'm now waiting for the Comp 6 to show up in the mail. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.
