Which board should I go with
I have looked at a few different boards and have narrowed it down to two I think. Though feel free to offer other suggestions. The one factor is that I live in Canada but can bring stuff in from the U.S.
I am considering the MBS Core 95 or the Mongoose Slalom with brakes.

to help us help you. give us some stats. specifically age, height, weight and what type of riding you will be doing
though i very much doubt any one will recommend the mongoose

for once im gonna say that he CORE range may be enough, with no jumps or heavy flex i dont see any reason to spend the extra cash on a comp deck. also again for a change i actually think the vector trucks could be more suited to your needs than the matrix trucks on the comp range.
might also be relevant to mention that pushing on a mountainboard is no where near as convenient as it is on a skate/longboard, in fact its 'doable'.
so unless you are only riding in one direction and its all downhill...id consider something else all together.

ok this is a bit weird. yes of course the pro decks are the best and of course the comps are better than the cores but this guy isnt full on riding. there is no reason to spend so much money just for a cruiser setup.
in fact there is no reason not to buy a cheaper/ different brand altogether. Blue earth, kheo, scrub, flexifoil. or any kitedeck could, in my opinion, serve your needs.
have you looked for second hand stuff on ebay or craigslist?

according to:

it is an adult board...but i agree that for this big guy it might be a bit borderline. still with no jump i dont really see how he would snap it.

I'm back I ended up going with the MBS 95x comp. I was going to go with the 90 comp but the 95x comp went on sale at amazon for $360 and free shipping.
I won't be doing any jumps I have a bad knee and found out I have a serious tear that requires surgery. However being I live in Canada I have 5 months to rehab before I can go out anyways.
I use a land paddle so much of the pushing will be done with my upper body not my legs. However I have a few little hills around my house that I can ride as well.
