ATBA UK Crash of the Weekend.

Post by markbrosnan78 » Tue Apr 09, 2013 2:37 pm

In the absence of a photos thread I'll post this here.

I was a bit of a distance away so its cropped in a bit but after being carried down the hill and a quick trip to A&E to confirm nothing too serious Shane returned to collect his third place in the Masters.

Matt Brind then hit it a bit later but at a slower speed.

It was a really gnarly almost vertical drop. Good job everyone was padded up and the route well scouted and padded.

I'm glad I chose to miss the course out in the end. Seeing pro's finding a course tough made my decision a bit easier.

Thanks to the ATBA UK team for organising a great day out, some fantastic riding and a great course.

By the way I crashed three times on the top section before I realised it was way out of my skill level.

Ouch! Good effort you giving it a go though.

Wish I could have made it down...I'll be there for the next ones though.

I've never seen a video do a track such an injustice. A massive learning curve for me. So much respect for those of you who had the skills and the balls to tackle it.

Maybe if I practice for four hours every day for the next year I'll be up for it. Even looking through all the photos I can't find one that shows it in its proper glory.

A good find by the ATBA team. I'm hoping for something a bit milder for the next event. ie one I can actually ride...

Michael. I never apologised for accidentally setting the flash off in your face at the top of the "drop". I don't mean to blind you. Made a great photo though.

Pros crashing like that... Must have been a hard track to tackle indeed. Any vids Mark for us to get a feel of the thing, even if it doesn't do truly justice?

Yep. When the Pro's are at the top being quiet you know its time for the rest of you to get a tight sphincter.

I only do stills but here is some POV action from Remolition.

This is the original ATBA UK video that had us all fooled.
