Anybody know any ways to mount a camera to their board to get some good video? I have a Kodak camera with the standard tripod screw-hole mount.
Thanks

I used a cut off ski,but use could use anything. I'll look for the pics of the actual mount, if I can't find them I'll take some new ones.

Alright thanks

Do you know what size screw fits in a standard tripod mount on a camera? I might have an idea...

should be a 1/4 inch. every camera I've ever owned has a 1/4" hole standard

Awesome, I'll dig around in the garage and see if I can find any screws.
Found your pic by the way, might try something like it. I like how it clamps onto the board without having to make any other holes in the board...

It's a good enough pic to see what you did. I'll probably end up doing the same thing, but with the camera on the right. I don't have any old skis so I'll see what else I can use. I'll figure it out this weekend when I come home...

Use a bolt longer than you need and use an wingnut (upside down) to tighten the camera down in the proper direction w/o having to force it.

Well I found a screw that fits, it's a little short at about 3/4" long, it only goes in ~1/4" so there's still 1/2" to work with. I might have some carbon fiber strips I can use (if I still have them) or maybe I can use some thick lexan. I'll be able to make it work, I'll post pics when I finish

Hell yea , that will work, you might want to put a stone guard on it.
Mine doesn't clamp all the way underneath, it just clamps the edges.

So I took it out for a test run. The mount worked good but because of how stiff and tight the camera was on that bolt, the video was very blurry/shaky and for some reason, after going down the hill, the camera kept rolling but the video stopped and all I got was white noise. This is my only camera so I'm not going to try it again until I get more money for a go pro or some other camera.

My camera has an impact protection feature. Even holding it in your hands on a mountianboard over rough ground and it thinks it's being dropped and switches off the vision 'for its own protection'. Maybe yours is the same.

Ive tried a similar angle with my gopro and I got alot of shaky video, I was using the suction mount on the deck with it hung out the side like you guys setups. My trails have a lot of rocks though too, I might try something like that again just to see what I can get to work.

Nodrog, my camera stayed on, but for some reason the last 10 seconds of the video was a frozen shot with white noise.
I re-did my mount a little bit. I took some foam off which made the camera slightly looser so it flexes a little, but it's still on tight. I just got done cutting a new trail in the woods so once I cool off I'll go back out and test it again
