Skateboard rails?

Post by Wolfie65 » Mon Mar 03, 2014 8:07 am

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of adding some Powell Rib Bones (flat & wide) to my deck for slope style board slides, anyone tried this?

I think Dave Stiefvater has done something like that to a couple of his boards (grind rails on the bottom), From what I can tell it hasn't weakened his decks at all.

Why?
I've never had a problem sliding without them and don't know anyone that has.
I can do a wheelie on a uni-cycle...

Tried them on a skateboard in the 80's if that counts?

Well, a skateboard slides better with rails (plastic being more slippery than wood), and the rails also help protect the bottom of the deck. I'm less concerned with the graphics as I am with cracking, a new mountain board isn't in the budget at this time, $ 6.00 rails are.
