WFC19 Practice at Mosquito Park

WFC19 was one for the books, not just because it was the first time a two zone system was used but for the incredible atmosphere and the high quality of the riding. The latter point was actually really funny as well as impressive; I've never been at a competition where the commentator felt the need to announce, during practice, 'we want to remind the athletes that this is just a practice session and these runs aren't being judged and don't count for the competition'. Hilarious and incredible! I had a thought before the event - it's kind of weird that we all save our big tricks for the competition which means we throw them without practicing them.... I discussed with Andy and James on the way to the event, and they agreed that it was weird, so we made a pact to send everything we wanted to throw in the competition during practice. Needless to say, everyone else joined in on the send and before you knew it, 6 of us were throwing 7s, some of us throwing 7s both ways and corked, and there was tonne of switch too. No wonder the commentator tried to calm us down!

  •  I keep my bigger tricks for the competition because I keep thinking I'll crash and stop riding in practice 😅
